Taxi Zero was started in 2014 by landlords, John and Elisa Meyers, who heard from their tenants that there was insufficient options for taxi service in Potsdam and Canton areas.  Rather than hope somebody would start a new taxi service, John and Elisa decided to take action and start their own taxi service.

John holds two degrees from Clarkson.  BSECE ’83, when Clarkson was still known as Clarkson College of Technology.   MS Mgmt Sci ’91 from Clarkson University.

John also holds three permanent teaching certifications in New York State.  Math, Business, and Technology, all for grades 7-12.  

John maintains several youtube channels including MathCat321, TaxiZero, and HistoryRepeated.

John was involved with other startup businesses in the North Country including SLIC Network Solutions.  John named the company after working in SLC at the IBM site in Rochester, MN.

John and Elisa currently operate six(6) Airbnb units in the Potsdam / Canton areas and serve Clarkson, SLU, SUNY Potsdam, and SUNY Canton. airbnb.com/p/theloft123

John has also served many years as a deacon in his local church where he has served since 1991 and attended since 1981.

Beginning January, 2022, Taxi Zero will be only providing regional service to airports and regional bus stations.  This decision was made as other taxi services have ceased operation, leaving Taxi Zero the only taxi service available in the area.   Taxi Zero is only one car and one driver.  Therefore, reservations must be made at least 24-hours in advance, and limited to the destinations on the rate page.
